Energie-Geschäftsreise Senegal with AHK Germany
Thank you for meeting Eng2Move in Dakar. We showcase our off-grid microgrid energy solutions for key infrastructures in developing countries.
Our business delegation to Dakar, under the esteemed accompaniment of Mr. Thomas Küppers, Deputy Chief of Mission from the German Embassy, commenced on September 20th. Alongside five other German companies, we arrived from Germany, establishing our base at the Le Ndiambour Hotel. The initial days were spent aligning our strategy, building a collaborative spirit within the delegation, and preparing for the pivotal meetings ahead, all facilitated by the strong diplomatic support of the German Embassy.
The week's activities culminated on September 24th in a significant event: a meeting with over 50 local Senegalese companies and entities. This forum provided unparalleled access and led to in-depth, high-level discussions with two key ministers. We engaged with His Excellency Birame Soulèye Diop, Minister of Energy and Petroleum and Mining, on Senegal's energy future, and later with His Excellency Dr. Serigne Gueye Diop, Minister for Industry and Commerce, to understand the policies shaping the nation's industrial and commercial landscape. These dialogues affirmed a receptive environment for German partnership and investment.
Our engagement with Senegal's industrial core continued with a site visit to SONACOS SA on September 25th. As the nation's leading agri-food company and a household name, SONACOS offered a compelling view of the established peanut sector and possible cooperation in provding essential energy facility to power the operational machinaries.
Another significant engagement followed on September 26th with ENERGECO AFRIQUE, where General Manager Libasse Niang detailed his company's ambition to deeply explore the market for microgrid applications. This forward-looking strategy, targeting local charge facilities and community services, reveals a dynamic and emerging market segment ripe for collaboration.
The trip successfully forged critical connections at both the governmental and corporate levels, identifying concrete pathways for market entry. The foundation laid in Dakar promises strong potential for future partnerships, leveraging German expertise to support Senegal's growing industrial and energy sectors.
